Coupling Decoupling Networks for shielded line or screened line and coaxial cable
S-Series Coupling Decoupling Networks, commonly called CDN Sxx in IEC-61000-4-6 conducted immunity standard, injecting common mode disturbances to DUT (Device under test) with shielded data lines. It also decouples these signals so that it does not interfere with any auxiliary devices connected to the DUT.
The S series CDNs are for shielded cable applications and are not specific to the number of conductors within the cable used by the DUT because the signal is coupled to the cable's shield. Com-Power has several models with different types of connectors. See the description of each model below.
All Com-Power CDN-S series models have a frequency range of 150 kHz to 230 MHz.
Brief description of each model and the application is given below.
CDN-T8SE : For shielded ethernet cables. Compatible with CAT5/CAT6 ethernet line
CDN-C50E: For 50 Ohm coaxial lines.
CDN-75E: For 75 Ohm coaxial lines
CDN-USB-AE: For USB cable with type A interface. Compatible with USB 2.0.
CDN-USB-BE: For USB cable with type B interface. Compatible with USB 2.0
CDN-USB3-A-E: For USB cable with type A interface. Compatible with USB 3.0.
CDN-USB3-B-E: For USB cable with type B interface. Compatible with USB 3.0
CDN-S-XX: For serial interface cables with DB-XX type connectors.
Test Level calibration accessories
In order to calibrate CDNs and set the test levels you require, specific shorting adapters and a set of 150Ω to 50Ω adapters (ADA-515-X) are required. We recommend purchasing these adapters from Com-Power since they will be needed to calibrate the test levels prior testing the actual product. Typical test levels given in IEC-61000-4-6 are 1, 3 and 10V RMS. Com-Power has put together a test system including power amplifiers, directional couplers, attenuator, etc.
Calibration
All Com-Power S series CDNs are supplied with calibration traceable to the SI through NIST or recognized National Metrology Institute. Com-Power also offers ISO-17025 accredited calibration.
